Mauricio Silva es encargado del Laboratorio de Reproducción Animal del Departamento de Ciencias Veterinarias y Salud Pública, UC Temuco. Investigador del Núcleo de Investigación en Producción Agroalimentaria (NIPA), Facultad de Recursos Naturales, UC Temuco. Miembro del Claustro Académico del Programa de Doctorado en Ciencias Agopecuarias, Facultad de Ciencias Agropecurias, UC Temuco.
Participa en la red de colaboración para el estudio de la fisiología reproductiva de camélidos sudamericanos, junto con académicos de la Universidad Austral de Chile, University of Saskatchewan, Canadá, y de la Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, Perú.
